I am currently an owner of my Samsung Galaxy S21 and only had it for a few months. I noticed that when I am talking to my friends on the phone apps that I frequently (Discord & Xbox App).
Most of the time I am in the call with friends they hear a lot of echoing coming from my end to theirs and it happens all the time, sometimes it makes a weird screeching sound. Please help because I do use these apps a lot to communicate and the experience is only getting worse. Why hasn't this been fixed yet?
Hi @nidge, is your software and apps up to date on the device? Please check that first, and if the issue persists, I would also like you to try the following troubleshooting steps to see if we can identify a specific microphone is causing the echo.
1. open the Phone app and type in*#0283#.
2. For microphone1, you can hold the device up to your ear and speak into it as you would during a phone call. You should hear a feedback of your voice coming from the speaker to indicate the mic has picked up your voice.
3. For microphone2, speak into your phone as if you were on speakerphone and you should have the same audio feedback.
If you do not, my best suggestion would be to back up your data and bring your device and proof of purchase to your nearest service centre to be assessed.
It does it when I'm on speaker for Discord and Xbox party app with multiple people in the call. Normal phone calls seem to be okay and the feedback tests i did were fine, I updated everything but it still persists.
I rarely run into problems with the Discord and Xbox app I use, There must be something running constantly on the phone that interrupts the communications with echoes and high screeching like noises.
