I have samsung Flip 3 and love it BUT with the phone closed and I receive a notification it stays on the screen about 1 second. 
Putting it on Always on Display makes no difference.
The new flips have a time out for the cover screen why doesn't samsung do an update to be able to do this for the earlier models 😞
