Recently my Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 classic just stopped connecting to my phone. I checked and found the Bluetooth isn't switched on. When i switch it on, it will just switch off itself. Did a factory reset,  my phone doesn't detect the watch when doing the initial setup.

So i brought the watch to samsung service centre at 1-utama. The watch is out of warranty. Was told they will flash in the firmware. If it works they will charge me rm60. If it doesn't work it's free.

Next day they called me, they said flashing in the firmware didn't work. Problem is still there. Do i want to proceed with "diagnostic" checking? It'll cost me rm80... at this point i felt it is very sketchy and i was not told about diagnostic check will cost money, and i wasn't even provided a service sheet..

I asked them how much it will cost to just replace the board, they said rm700...

I really don't like this service so i just told them it's alright no need repair. I will go collect my watch. And on the spot i went to buy huawei gt4 as they are on promotion now and coincidently I'm standing at their huawei shop playing with their watch. End up buying the huawei watch ultimate. God they look so good and the battery life is very tempting.

What is going on with samsung? They charge you for everything? Is it normal practice now to not provide you a service sheet?

Was thinking of getting s24 ultra when it launches... now I'm having second thoughts.

My last visit to samsung service centre is at wisma bentley opposite curve, before mco. My visits there had always been pleasant and i loved the service there. Even repaired my older samsung fitness bands there that was out of warranty. They did "diagnostics" for free and charged me to fix it which i think is more reasonable. Now they have moved, i have no idea where they moved, without a better service centre i am looking for another brand to move to. Although i have invested a lot in samsung ecology over the years. Been a loyal samsung user since my first samsung, the note 2.

I even converted my family to samsung... very dissapointed.

I went to the 1U service center before, experience wasn't good. Never gone back there.

If you go during like nearer towards the closing time, the staff give off this vibe that they just want to clock off.

Benefit of doubt, maybe caught them on really rough day but after hearing your experience, maybe not coincidence after all.

Do you have a better service Centre to recommend?

I usually go to Gardens in MV, generally found them quite procedurally tight.

They will provide the service sheet, you can follow up via the website on progress and their calls were fairly prompt.

The other to consider is maybe Pavilion, but it's abit far in town

No problem, hopes our admin here takes note of feedback and pass in on to HQ.

I've complained about 1U SC to CS before

Same bad experience, had a Note 9 with green screen issues, since it was caused by software, the repair should be free, but they told me the period for free repair was over.

Fine, they offered to also do this "diagnostic" which they've also charged me for, in the end it was idk, more than RM1K to repair?

I didn't proceed with the repair, with that money I could just get a new phone. Overall, it was quite bad.

However, the one at Pavilion KL seems to be okay. S Pen nib broke off once and since they didn't sell separate nibs, went to service centre and they replaced an entire new S Pen for free.

But Huawei is not a smartwatch at all. If you don't need a real smartwatch, you're doing the right thing with Huawei. Huawei can always provide you with the worst products at the highest prices. Even though I am a Chinese citizen and Huawei is a brand of our country, it is difficult for me to defend Huawei. I believe you will understand how rubbish Huawei is in the near future.

How is it not a real smart watch?

Watch OS is a highly open and free system with rich Apps, which Huawei cannot match. Huawei watches are also powered by batteries, and longer battery life means lower intelligence. Therefore, long-lasting watches mean lower intelligence. Watches such as Apple and Samsung have relatively short battery life because they have complex smart functions.
