Hi all

My Q950A soundbar was locked in shop 6 display mode. You can tell when you switch it on it will tell you.  The other signs are the buttons on the unit do not work only the remote control can be used to turn off. Also the volume jumps to 29 after 3 minutes or so. Pretty annoying.

I did a ring around and a legend at samsung customer care gave me this fix which worked for me.

1. Have unit plugged in and power off with remote.

2. While soundbar turned off hold the "-" button on the bar until the display reads "shop mode off"

3. Turn unit on again if it hasn't already rebooted. Then hold down the "+" and "-" buttons on the bar until the display reads "int".

4. SETUP unit from scrach with smart things app and you are back in business.

This saved me 2 hours round trip to samsung repairer although was covered by warranty. My bar is 18 months old.

Hope this helps you too

Hi there!

Thank you very much, this post saved me a lot of time and stress to start unnecessary warranty administration! At first i thought it's a hw issue (continously disconnected from TV after few minutes, buttons didnt work as earlier except volume buttons) than noticed this Shop6 Display message and found this life saver post... 😎

I guess my wife accidently activated this shop mode while cleaning the dust/cat hair from the soundbar...🙄

The bests from Hungary!

No matter how long I press the "-" key, nothing happened.
