Within the last few weeks photos I download to Gallery do not show up so I can see them for almost 24 hours. My wife has an iPad and when she downloads the same photo she can ee it right away. All I see is a Grey space with a symbol. If I click on it to open it I get same Grey space but I can then click on little i in a circle and it displays date and time of photo plus other location information identifying photo and showing location in phone DCIM. How do I get the photo to display sooner? Did the latest update cause this?

Hi henrywindsor,

We are sorry to hear that your Samsung device experiencing a delay in indexing or displaying newly downloaded photos in the Gallery app after the update.

Steps to Fix the Issue:

Clear Cache for the Gallery App Go to Settings > Apps > Gallery. Tap on Storage > Clear Cache. Avoid clearing data unless absolutely necessary, as it might reset app settings.

Manually Refresh the Gallery: Open the Gallery app. Swipe down or look for a "Refresh" option to force the app to re-index the photos.

Boot your phone into Safe Mode to check if a third-party app is interfering.

To enter Safe Mode:

  1. Hold the Power button.
  2. Long-press the Power Off option until you see "Safe Mode."
  3. Tap to restart in Safe Mode.

If photos display instantly in Safe Mode, a third-party app might be causing the issue.

As a last resort, back up your data and reset settings to default.

I started in safe mode and the photo was immediately available. So the issue has something to do with the most recent update and that app

I have now started the phone in the normal way and access the bird Buddy app to download a photo and the photo immediately appeared in gallery. So something was fixed although I have the no idea what it was

Hi henrywindsor,

That's great! It sounds like a temporary glitch was resolved. If the issue reoccurs, consider clearing the cache of both the Gallery and the Bird Buddy app through Settings > Apps. Glad it's working now!

Thank you.
