I have a SamsungA32 and after the recent samsung update I can now not make or receive calls.
My son has worked out a temporary work around by briefly putting it in flight mode and back out. I can then operate like normal, but after a while it goes back to the same situation. I've checked settings etc and can't see anything obvious.
Any ideas or has someone else had the same issue?
TIA

Ah....nope. phone is still stuffed. That didn't work. It seems like the last samsung update has stuffed it, might have to wait on the next update? Painfull as my phone is my call out mechanism for my volunteer fire and rescue station attendance to incidents.

***.  Ours have been fine since the previous update but today's update didn't fix it either.  Thankfully hubby has retired from CFS otherwise he'd be stressing more now too.

Thanks for letting me know.  I'll also post here if I get anything useful from sending the 'log' file to Samsung and get a fix.

cheers

Hi Mal

Just out of interest are you rural/regional or metro and has your issue only been happening with the shutdown of the 3g network.  I heard today that some Qld Sunshine Coast (I think) areas are having a similar issue and there is a suggestion it is to do with the signal strength (particularly indoors) of the new 4g equipment/tower stuff.  I have NO IDEA what I'm talking about but just putting it out there in case it's a possibility that it is not an issue with our phones.  I haven't heard back from the tech guys at Samsung which is VERY disappointing.

regards

Pam

Yes we are just over 2 hours SE of Perth, so might be having an impact except people I talk to locally have no problems.

Yep, we are about the same from Adelaide and locals we talk to mostly have no issues.  Will still let you know if I hear back from Samsung and if I learn anything else.

Still no luck.  On to Samsung again now.  Telstra gave us a $10 refund for our inconvenience!!!  They closed the case because when they asked if it was working now ... after they got me to do a few things like reset network settings and loads of other things I had already done ... I said yes FOR NOW but that it would fail again within the hour they took that as FIXED.  I've now allowed Samsung to remote into my phone and they set things up for me for the next time it failed to do what they call a 'silent log'.  Did this half hour later when it failed and when through a tech minefield and finally uploaded condensed log files to their dropbox.  Was told late this arvo they'll hand that of to the tech people in development and get back to me.  Assuming they don't work on weekends.  Soooo fed up with it all.  Have you had any luck?  cheers, Pam

Thanks for the update Pam. Fingers crossed for you. No, I've had one or two people who are quite tech savvy and even compared the settings on mine with theirs and could see no difference. Still hopeful....

Haven't had any of these particular issues since hitting the road on the 21st!! Three states and no loss of signal. I'm saying it is to do with the tower work on our local Riverland tower since 3g shut-down and someone has stuffed something up. We will see when we get home and update you again.
