No notifications on Watch 4 from A54 5G

I got a new A54 5G and connected my Galaxy Watch 4. Now I don't get any notifications on the watch, e.g. SMS. This used to work fine with my previous phone (S20). I saw postings about a similar problem with S22 phone and One UI 5.0. Will there be a software update soon to fix this issue?

Hi, I request you to please restart the watch once and check again.

If the issue still persist please back up the watch and perform reset by using the steps in the  below link.

Resetting the watch had no effect. I also ran a software update on the phone...Nothing.
