Galaxy BooksProduct Details & Background
I own the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 16″ equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor, 16 GB RAM, and 1 TB eUFS storage. This model features a right-side USB-A port (USB 3.2), as well as two USB-C (USB4) ports on the left.
Issue Description
Every time I connect a USB device to the right-side USB-A port (e.g. flash drive, mouse dongle), Windows fails to recognize it. I must open Device Manager, disable the Qualcomm USB3 eXtensible Host Controller driver, then re-enable it—only then does the USB device work. If I restart or disconnect then reconnect the device, the cycle repeats.
Impact
Repetitive workaround required—cannot use USB-A port reliably without manual intervention.
Interrupts workflow and is especially frustrating during presentations or when using the included port for external storage or peripherals.
Suggests a deeper driver or firmware issue—possibly triggered by the Snapdragon architecture or recent BIOS/drivers.
What I've Tried
Standard reconnect of the cable, no docks or replicators involved.
Disabled and re-enabled the driver in Device Manager (temporary fix).
Ran Windows Update—no fix.
Checked Samsung Update for driver/BIOS patches.
Request for Samsung Engineering / Community:
Can this behavior be attributed to a known driver/firmware bug?
Is there a patch or updated USB3 host controller driver available?
Could a BIOS revision address the issue?
Any temporary settings, registry tweaks, or driver rollbacks to try?
Video Demonstration
This footage clearly shows exactly how the right-side USB-A port initially fails to detect the device, and how toggling the USB3 eXtensible Host Controller in Device Manager restores functionality.
