Galaxy JHi Jackwagon,
Please follow the below steps on your phone and get back to us with the results.
Make sure the Bluetooth device is within the range and in the pairing mode.
Go to Settings >> Connections >> Phone visibility >> Activate it.
When connecting it, make sure the devices are within 5-10 feet of each other to get a better experience.
Perform clear cache and clear data for the Bluetooth.
Go to settings>> Apps>> Bluetooth>> Clear cache and clear data.
If the issue still persists then you can Reset Network Settings:
Go to Settings>> General Management>>Reset>>Reset Network Settings>>Reset settings.
This will reset all network settings, including those for Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, Bluetooth.
Restart the mobile if necessary and check if it works.

Galaxy JI had the same issue with a J7 Pro phone, bluetooth kept turning off and drove me mad! I tried all the tips below with no luck so reported to backing up and doing a full factory reset. Pleased to report that it has fixed the issue, bluetooth has remained stable since.
