I am trying to connect to a Windows IIS FTP server and I get the following error

Unknown Error:vfs.provider/list-children.error

When I try create a folder or move a file from my phone to  the FTP location I get the following error

Unknown Error:vfs.provider/get-type.error

The password and user name are correct because when I put in the wrong password, it won't connect at all

I have a Note20 that is having the vfs error on network storage access on an iMac via SMB. It accesses the server and displays the folders, but when I click on a folder on the server, it gives the error: "Unknown error: vfs.provider/list-children-not-folder.error".  I confirmed file sharing works via SMB by accessing successfully with another computer. smb share verified working ok over network share with another iMac. Any help appreciated!

Well, I may propose you to get more detailed information about turboftp client as it seems to it can easily help you with the ftp synchronization right there as I hope that you will pay attention to them right there too. I just hope that thanks to it you will find all the stuff that you need there.

Its already March 2024, and it seems they can't still seem to make this work. I already had my Samsung S23 Ultra and now Samsung S24 Ultra, and yet this issue still persist. I still can't connect to my FTP server on the File Explorer app of Samsung, all the while my FTP server is accessible via my Computer with FileZilla. 😒

i connected to my nas with this. switched off SSL TLS on the connection by details. it worked. otherwise it errors on the last end of the file.
Samsung should repair SSL TLS but this started for me when samsung pass will crash by autofilling in for me.  but for file transfer switch off SSL TLS option on details and see if that works for you to.

I have found the solution, you have to disable security when you connect your FTP accounts to your mobile.
