Notifications are making sound on silent

My notifications, including text messages, are making sound when everything is on silent or vibrate except for media. Why is the media volume controlling my notification sound?

I also tried to use Samsung services twice and both people silenced my media volume and told me it was fixed. I just want to listen to music without it beeping at me.

I have separate media and notification volume settings.

What model is your phone, and what version of Android are you using?

SM-N960W I also have my notification volume turned all the way down but it doesn't seem to control anything anymore

Please try pressing the Volume key and swipe down on the volume notification. Now you could be able to adjust by sliding the volume levels for media, notification etc to where you want them.

sorry I didn't see this till now, my notification volume is set to vibrate but my game notifications are still making sounds
