Hi my S23 ultra takes beautiful photos except today when i took a photo from a short distance the red flowers on a tree came out all foggy like. The tree is in my neighbours yard hidden behind a fence but top of tree i can see covered in flowers so not a close up photo had to zoom in a little.

Hi @kzee, think the problem ur referring to is the blurry image/ ghosting effect bug introduced with the One UI 6.1.1 update. The bug only affects the zoom lens and only when the zoom magnification is between 16x to 19.9x.

Samsung is aware of the problem and has released a fix for this problem in other parts of the world but not yet to Australia. Judging by the date of this report I found on the internet https://sammyguru.com/galaxy-s23-ultra-gets-camera-fix-after-one-ui-6-1-1-zoom-bug/#:~:text=1%20came....
, this fix would not have been part of the September One UI 6.1.1 update that dropped only this month in Australia, so I guess we'll just have to wait for future One UI 6.1.1 updates for the fix.

The workaround in the meantime is either set your zoom magnification on a shot to outside of the affected range ( i.e either choose zoom 15.9x and smaller or choose 20x and larger).

Hope that helps explain why it's happened.

Apologies, this bug was fixed with the September One UI 6.1.1 update that only dropped in Australia within the last week. Just checked my firmware build number on my S23U and it ends in ...CX11 so that means blurry image/ghosting effect is no more...yay 🙌.

So if you haven't already check that you have the latest One UI 6.1.1 loaded.

Just confirmed that One UI 6.1.1 September update fixed zoom glitch mentioned by original writer.

The photo I just took on my S23U was of a nearby "mock orange" or murraya shrub/tree.

Magnification was set to 17.5x and no blurry image or ghosting effect.👍20241014_062155_1000028462_1728850916.jpg
