My S24+ has recently started shifting ALL of my contacts into the recycle bin. Everytime I need to make a call I have to go to the rcyle bin, edit, select all and restore. Only started doing this since the last update. After reinstating they go back to the recycle bin within seconds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting seriously close to abandoning Samsung!

WOAH! Blimey that royall ***.

My thoughts:
1. Where is the source of your contacts ... on device ONLY or via a 3rd party source like Google, Outlook.com, Hotmail, or EAS account?

2. Create 3 generic inconsequential contacts LOCALLY on device not cloud source as those mentioned above. You'll want to check if these get deleted.

3. Logon to Google and Samsung Cloud and ensure you do NOT have a secondary phone linked to your account. If so and not what you recognized DELETE IT.

4. Check ALL your apps - SLOWLY. Ensure EVERY App installed is something YOU PERSONALLY installed! Anything suspicious UNINSTALL it and/or FORCE QUIT, REMOVE ALL PERMISSIONS, DISABLE IT if you cannot uninstall it!

Then contact Samsung Support on how to ensure no MDM or 3rd party access has to your phone.

Lastly on Cloud sourced phone numbers ... CHANGE your password! Got a feeling someone has access and screwing around with you?? Other sync'd devices ... in home or with family loved ones or friends ... may be deleting contacts out of error and not out of mallice.

Don't be so quick to blame Samsung ... think this though methodically 1st. I know it can be frustrating ... I work in IT support for over 17yrs and I can tell you I've DUCKED, DODGED a few laptops and phones hurled in my direction NOT because of my suggestions or me just cause I didn't reach someone in time, mostly didn't know what was happening or just walking by. so I know 1st hand the anger.

Probably the AI has determined that every one of your contacts is bad...😉

Hope you do a backup of your contacts and either backup to an external device or if you don't have an external device e-mail it to yourself.

Hi Members_bgjmMzc,

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue with your Galaxy S24+. If your contacts are automatically moving to the Recycle Bin, this may be due to a sync issue.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

Check Account Sync Settings:  Go to Settings → Accounts & backup → Manage accounts Check if your contacts are syncing from Samsung Cloud, Google, or another account Disable and re-enable sync for each account, then restart your device.

Clear Contacts App Cache & Data: Open Settings → Apps → Contacts → Storage → Clear Cache. If the issue persists, select Clear Data (this won’t delete cloud contacts, but they may need to resync)

Remove & Re-add Your Google/Samsung Account:  Settings → Accounts & backup → Manage accounts. Remove your Google/Samsung account → Restart your phone → Re-add the account.

Check Samsung Cloud or OneDrive Backup Settings: Open Settings → Samsung Account → Samsung Cloud. Ensure Contacts Sync is enabled and not causing any deletion.

If the issue continues, please submit an Error Report via the Samsung Members app so our  team can investigate this further.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.
