How can I set certain contacts to break through do not disturb? I want to hear calls from some, messages from some, the only option is to star a contact but that enables both calls and messages
Samsung support replied and said select the contacts I want to receive either calls or messages from but this isn't even an option. Is Samsung familiar with their devices?

Yes - The only thing that you can do is set Exceptions in Do Not Disturb & then allow the "stared" Contacts to ignore DND....
I suppose that you could change the Notification for the Contacts that you don't want to receive Texts or Calls from to "silent" for either Calls or Texts... but... 🐧

hi there, scroll down your notification bar to show all the icons and look for DND icon, press abt 1.5 seconds and you will see the DND settings or you csn go to phone settings, inside the sound and vibration page, scroll down and you will see the DND on/off button. press 1.5 seconds and setting DND page will open up. but before that, put your important contacts into your favorite, or click on the star and they will be listed under your favorite contacts. then click on option to choose custom under "allow exception" then you can choose your favorite to bypass the DND. you have to choose the options provided from there on hope this helps. "PEACE".

Hey Rocky, no it only allows me to pick my favorite contacts. like I say some contacts I only want to hear phone calls, some contacts messages and the others can stay on vibrate. looking around it seems older versions of Android gave this option but I'm not seeing it here

ok, got what you meant, i have the same thoughts as yours long time ago, but I don't think Samsung has that feature but I am still looking forward to these features too.

if you go into a message conversation of that contact and click on the settings and then on the notifications you can set the ignore dnd setting...this will allow your contacts to ignore the dnd setting

if your phone is on DND you don't get any notifications, yes you can set it so favorites come through but what I am looking for is to have my phone on vibrant and get notifications from games or other people but if my fiancé calls me or texts me I am able to hear it. I've had an iPhone for the longest time and just got a Samsung S21 and was hoping they would have this option
