Hello,

Since Samsung voice typing doesnt support Croatian I want to use Google Voice Typing.

On Oneui8 i have enabled:

"Show keyboard button in navigation bar" and i dont have any other keyboard installed.

So in Samsung Keyboard > Voice Input when I select Samsung Keyboard i get microphone in the bottom left corner which could be very useful 👍, but as Ive said it doesnt support Croatian so I have to use Google Voice Typing.👎

But when I change it to Google Voice Typing that little microphone gets replaced with change Keyboard key which is really bad 👎

From Googling it seems like this is a bug, but since Samsung is very slow with bug fixes is there any workaround?

Thank you for your time

Under settings, general management, keyboard. At the bottom need to turn on "keyboard button on navigation bar".

You can also configure to use the side button for voice input.1759886033402.jpg

Hi Howyoudoinppl_s24ult,

Thank you for sharing the details of your experience with voice input on One UI 8. The issue you've described—where switching to Google Voice Typing replaces the microphone icon with the keyboard switch key—is understood and appears to be a limitation in the current integration between Samsung Keyboard and third-party voice input services.

Samsung Voice Typing currently does not support Croatian, which understandably leads  to seek alternatives such as Google Voice Typing. However, the absence of a dedicated microphone shortcut when using Google Voice Typing can hinder usability.

Possible Workarounds:

  1. Enable Google Voice Typing via Gboard:

    • Install Gboard from the Play Store.

    • Set Gboard as your default keyboard under Settings > General Management > Keyboard list and default.

    • Gboard offers seamless integration with Google Voice Typing and includes a microphone icon directly on the keyboard.

  2. Use Voice Typing via Google Assistant:

    • Activate Google Assistant and use the voice-to-text feature to dictate messages or notes.

    • While not embedded in the keyboard, this can serve as a functional alternative.

  3. Floating Keyboard Option:

    • Enable the floating keyboard in Samsung Keyboard settings.

    • This may allow quicker access to voice input options depending on layout and app context.

  4. Feedback to Samsung:

    • Consider submitting feedback via the Samsung Members app to highlight the need for improved support and integration for non-supported languages like Croatian.

At present, there is no official fix for this behavior, and it may require a future update from Samsung to address compatibility and UI consistency. We appreciate your patience and hope one of the above methods offers a more practical solution in the meantime.
