This is a well known issue. Every time a group chat is opened in messages, this notification is displayed at the bottom, COVERING THE INCOMING MESSAGE.

"Group conversations will be sent as multimedia messages."

The incoming message CANNOT be read until the nuisance message disappears. Who cares if it is sent by multimedia??? Everything is unlimited data these days and it doesn't matter how it is sent. No one needs this notification and no one needs it covering the incoming message to force everyone to read it and wait for it to expire!

I called in to Samsung support to get help with this notification, along with something else. The representative told me that he would raise this issue with the engineering group and it can be fixed in the next update. That was a few updates ago. I use group chat a lot for work purposes. This message, at this point, is basically a middle finger to Samsung users Samsung themselves. It has been going on for many years. There are thousands of complaints online everywhere. Just go look at Redditt, Verizon and the like. Even here. This has been an issue for many years!

I do not want to use the Google messages app. I don't like it. My phone prompted me to use it and I inadvertently made it default. Then half of my messages had no contact name and only phone numbers. I switched back to Samsung messages, which I like.

I have been a Galaxy S user since the very first Galaxy S phone came out. I and many other long time users don't deserve to have such an annoying message in our faces and not addressed by the creator of the annoying and hindering message.

Can someone please address this issue???? Thousands and thousands of people want you to Samsung!!!!

Though it pains me to say there is a reason why Samsung is now fully switching to Google for messages. At some point, it's all about performance. All Android phones use Google messages to chat except for a moment, Samsung. In short, it's all about community. Everything must change at one point. Without change, there would be no progress. I am sure Samsung will think to make a unique feature for messages, just not at the moment.

Hi Sandon,

We certainly understand your concern and apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. However, we recommend you to please switch to Google messages instead of preloaded Samsung Messages App.

Download from Google Play store > Google Messages and set as default. Google Messages ensures a smarter experience through AI suggestions and automatic organization.

Thank you.
