Hello forum,

I've noticed a lot of people are having issues with super fast charging turned on on their phone but with slow charge.

Whilst I cannot say this will work for you, I can say it worked wonders for me and my phone now charges perhaps even quicker than before the UI 7 update. For reference I am using a Samsung Galaxy s24.

If you do not know how to turn on super fast charging, you have to go into settings, scroll down to battery and from there, select charging settings

In Battery, I have power savings toggled off and Battery protection toggled off. Once I scroll down to select charging settings, I opted to toggle on everything which in my instance is show charging information, fast charging, and wireless fast charging. I turned on the wireless fast charging because even with my previous charger it was still charging very slow after the update.

Essentially, what it came down to is I had to replace the charger altogether and then make sure the above features were toggled off / on. The charger I am using now is also a Samsung and the model is EP-TA800.

The scan code reads as follows,

GH44-03062A+R37W41HFN9BDKB

Just copy and paste this into your browser so you can find it easily.

I am using a medium length USB C to USBC port cable. The charger actually says super fast charging on it. I've tried it on my wireless charger as well and it immediately fixed the problem. I still have battery drain, mind you, but I no longer have issues with it charging very quickly.

Hopefully this helps others. I currently have no problems with super fast charging it works like a charm!

Hi unsung70,

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and detailed steps.

That's a great tip using the official charger and double-checking charging settings especially after the One UI 7 update seems to solve the slow charging issue for many. Just a reminder: Battery Protection can limit charging speed, so toggle it off if needed.

So to keep on super fast charging, u suggest turning off those features? Will super fast stay on from start to end?

Yes with that same charger, and with those battery options toggled off I was able to regain super fast charging from beginning to end. Battery protection is meant to slow the charging speed of your phone to preserve the life of the battery. If you leave it toggled on it will make charging a slower process. It's not a bad idea to turn it on when the UI is working fine but right now after UI 7.0 has been released, many many people are experiencing both battery drain and slow charging despite having fast charging turned on. I can say that now my phone charges very quickly

Is it because of the battery protection feature? That's odd, because on one UI 6, charging is still fast even with that feature turned on.

Yes I had no problem with the ui6. The issue arose when I upgraded to the s24 and in the beginning it was okay but then with the ui7 roll out, I could not get it to supercharge. Unfortunately Samsung has gone the way of Apple and the Chargers are no longer included. So I was told to buy a charger which I did and it did not supercharge even though I was told it would and it was a genuine Samsung product. I happened to have this one hanging around I forget for which Samsung device but this particular model worked very well. I can't say for sure which of the factors was the defining factor in getting it to supercharge.. I think it was all of them put together that made my phone have the capacity to supercharge again. It's actually faster than it was before when I was on ui6. I just wrote down every step I took that made a difference for me. I'm on a Galaxy 24 for reference.
