One UI 7 Profile Card/Call Background Cropping Issue

Hello everyone,

I wanted to bring something to your attention regarding the new profile card/call background feature in One UI 7. I've noticed a significant change compared to previous firmware versions, and it's causing a bit of frustration.

Specifically, when I try to set an image that is full-screen, the profile card seems to unnecessarily crop it to a 1:1 aspect ratio and then zoom in on the image. This wasn't an issue before, and it means I can't get my chosen background to display properly without losing a significant portion of the image.

For reference, I have included screenshots below.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a setting I'm missing, or is this an intentional change in One UI 7? 

It would be great to have the flexibility to use full-screen images without them being automatically cropped and zoomed.

Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

You can clearly see on the left side it unnecessarily zooms in the picture.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention and for sharing your detailed feedback. The behavior you're describing with the profile card and call background cropping to a 1:1 ratio in One UI 7 does appear to be a design change compared to previous versions.

We understand how important personalization is, and we'll make sure to pass this feedback along to the relevant team. In the meantime, we recommend using image editing tools to adjust or crop your image before applying it as a workaround — though we understand this may not offer the ideal result.

Dear Samsung Team,

Yes, i am also facing the same issue, in reply that was a great suggestion you gave, actually am a graphic designer with the experience of 16+ years. i tried to edit the image in particular image editing softwares with pixel to pixel, pixel change, resolution change i tried and put all the experience and effort to get a good call background, it doesn't work... this is for your information
