Ever since I’ve been using One UI 7, something that’s been really bothering me (aside from the hundreds of other problems that came with One UI 7) is the Quick Panel. I have mine set to show 3 rows of icons, just like before, but now it takes two upward swipes to fully exit the panel. That wasn’t the case in One UI 6 — you'd swipe down to open it, do what you need to do, and swipe up once to close. Simple and efficient.

Now, even with the same layout, I have to swipe up twice to close it completely.

It gets even worse when media is playing (like Spotify or YouTube) — that adds an extra layer to the panel, making it feel more cluttered and still forcing that double swipe. Reducing the number of icons doesn’t help either — the media widget alone is enough to push it to two swipes. But honestly, I shouldn’t have to reduce my icon count just to make the panel quicker. It’s called a Quick Panel — it should be quick and easy to use. I want to keep at least 15 quick settings accessible with one swipe, like before.

Could Samsung please just make SmartThings and Nearby Devices part of the regular Quick Panel layout again, not an extra layer? Or even better — just give us the option to customize what shows up in the panel. Let us remove parts like the media player or sound control entirely if we don’t use them. Why is sound even part of the Quick Panel now?

Please bring back the One UI 6 simplicity. The current setup feels clunky and slower than it should be.

Hi Kathrin1,

Thanks for sharing your detailed feedback and the annotated screenshots they really help illustrate the issue.

We understand your concerns regarding the new Quick Panel behavior in One UI 7. We'll forward your suggestion to our development team for review. In the meantime, you can try customizing the panel through the Good Lock > QuickStar module for a more streamlined experience.

Still, I cannot get it to be just 1 swipe.

Also, why is the date and time removed in the Quick Panel? Why is it only visible in the notifications? There is just the perfect amount of space to add the date and time!ML6sepwPew.jpg1746536071943.jpg

Hi Kathrin1,

Thank you for your follow-up. We understand how these changes can impact your daily experience.

The removal of the date and time from the Quick Panel and the additional swipe requirement were part of the new design approach in One UI 7, but we recognize that not all users find this convenient. We’ll definitely share your concerns and suggestions with our software team.

In the meantime, we recommend using the QuickStar module in Good Lock to regain some control over the layout, though certain elements like the date/time position may still be limited.

We truly appreciate your feedback it's essential in helping us improve future updates.
