Does anyone know how to remove ads at the top of Samsung Pay?

There should be no ads for a native app.

Settings doesn't seem to do anything.

Thanks

I am not able to remove them from weather apps. It should be in settings then privacy them ads. But it didn't work for me.

No, the suggestion they give you is only to switch off the personalised adds, which means you get any rubbish instead of tailored adverts. I tried this and instead of getting Jeep adverts, I was greeted with dodgy social media advert plastered with girls when I checked my weather. Real nice experience Samsung.... there is a way to remove from the weather app, see the other high viewed post here. I tried it and it worked, but does drain my battery faster. So yeah, neither option is exactly ideal.

Hi @logiiq, there is no option to remove the top banner from Samsung Pay.

Samsung is continuously developing products and services to deliver new experiences to both our customers and partners. We work with advertisers to provide recommendations that help our customers discover and explore content and brands.

You can opt out of receiving customised ads via your mobile phone settings, though you will continue to see general ads within select applications. To do this, select the Opt out of Ads Personalisation option on your device through Settings > Privacy > Ads

If the operating system on your device is Version 5.2 or below, please follow these instructions: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt Out of Ads Personalisation.

Hope this clarifies things.

This is not good enough, when we, your paying customers, drop $2k on a premium device we shouldn't have to put up with ads in the stock apps to generate extra revenue for Samsung or your partners. If you want to do it on your cheap handsets by all mean go a head, but not on your +$1000 "premium" phones.

^^ 100% this! ^^ If it was cheap prepaid phones I could understand adverts substituting the cost. But these are "Premium Flagships" ... makes it feel cheap and nasty. The worst part is Samsungs tone deaf response and total lack of care for what their paying customers think. I can go on but I think I have said enough in other posts... they just gave the same reply cut and paste reply to everyone else in those posts, they don't care for our feedback. The opinion of the people who helped build their brand to what it is today means nothing to them, only extra money from as many adverts they can serve matters....

Hi Laura

The top banner was what I was hoping to remove.

Ads/ Banners should never be displayed in native apps. Or at least give us the option to disable the banner.

The same occurs with my TV.

It's not a good customer experience and feedback online suggests the same.

Please pass this feedback on.

Thanks

You can't. See the most viewed post here about this very topic. The simple answer is you can't. Samsung has now baked adverts into their apps such as the weather app, anything to make a few extra $$ from their customers, even if you paid for their highest end premium product. They no longer seem to care about the experience and more about making every last dollar out of you (you are the product to them...). The only way to remove adverts from default apps... change brand. As a Samsung fan it sadens me to say that but its the truth, and is the reason I am looking at a different brand. I was looking at their new Neo range TV'S as well but this has really put me off them so will probably look at LG or Sony.

Agree. At least give us the ability to opt out. Surely they did market research around this.

Bad for their brand and loyal customers. Not ideal customer experience.

I am also going to move to other apps.

Hi @logiiq, and @MarkoMarky, thank you for your feedback regarding our native apps. I apologise for the experience you've had and have shared the feedback in this thread internally.
