Maybe I am using the wrong term, but I cannot seem to resolve this issue. Occasionally app notifications will start to repeat themselves, and if I just close them it starts happening at an increasing pace. The only way to stop these is to go into Settings > Apps, force stop the app, and then clear cache.

As an example, last night one app repeated the notification that I had stopped earlier about 15 more times. All of the information I find online is how to turn off notifications. I don't want to do that, I want to stop the constant repeat notifications!

This started sometime this past fall, and has become increasingly worse since then.

Hi crombinator,

We understand how frustrating it can be to deal with repeat notifications, especially when they persist even after dismissing them. Please try the following steps and check for the issue.

Review Notification Reminder Settings. Go to Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings > Notification reminders. If this feature is enabled, it may be causing notifications to repeat. Try disabling it to see if the issue persists.

Adjust Notification Settings for the Specific App. Go to Settings > Apps > App Name > Notifications. Review the notification categories and toggle them off and on again.

Make sure "Sound" and "Vibration" settings aren’t duplicating the same notification.

Battery Optimization Navigate to Settings > Apps > App Name > Battery. Set the app to Unrestricted to prevent aggressive background management, which may cause notifications to reappear.

Thank you.

Sorry, I thought I had returned to this topic. The option:

>
Battery Optimization Navigate to Settings > Apps > App Name > Battery. Set the app to Unrestricted

Helped the main app causing this, and when applied to the Meta apps, it helped there.

Occasionally, this will still happen with other apps, and following that step will stop it for that specific app.

Same for me on Galaxy S20 FE 5G. It drains the battery incredibly quickly.

It seems that I have found a workaround. At least since yesterday, I haven't encountered this issue after disabling the notification history.

Settings -> Notifications -> Advanced settings -> Notification history -> Disable.

Before that, my phone's battery was completely drained after 8 hours. So far, it looks promising. I hope it stays that way.
