Got my S20 Ultra from Smart Communications last April 2020. This is my 1st Samsung phone. Got my 3M stickers at the back, screen protector, armoured casing. Absolute protection from physical damages was applied.

Until I noticed slight flickering 2 weeks ago. I just ignored it. Until last July 19, the screen went completely green and unusable. Referred the problem to samsung service center. They didn't see any physical defect on it. Service report said that screen needs to be replaced. Total cost is 10580 pesos. I got no choice but to proceed..

Hey Samsung. This is not suppose to happen on a premium device. Durability comes with your flagship series. Consumers are paying for it. I've read a lot of problems regarding flickering and green screens in the s20 series. I hope you look into this matter.

**Will update about the repair after 3-5 days..

I had the same problem way back in June. I bought the unit in March of 2020 then the screen died in June of 2021. Sent my phone for repair in Chronicles (Samsung Service Center) and paid a hefty amount of 10,500. I remember using an S7 edge way back and that phone lasted 3 years without any problems. Even the person I sold that phone is still using it to this day. I just can't figure out the logic behind spending 70,000 pesos for a phone that only lasts more than a year and would break down just a few months after the warranty.

For being a loyal customer since the first Galaxy S phone, this is the first time I am seriously, SERIOUSLY disappointed with a product you launched. I am actually selling it but nobody even wants to buy it from me because almost everyone online is aware of the problem. Please take action on this.FB_IMG_1627343996093_5361.jpg

Same. Paid 10500 for the screen replacement. Not an isolated matter i think. Probably the batch number of the screen production is the problem. Unfortunately, we are included to it. We are not at fault for this. No physical damage... This shouldn't be an issue at all if quality measures are taken. A flagship phone, without the flagship quality. Let's just hope Samsung will look into this QC check and also improve device warranty.

If I am not mistaken, units sold in March were the most affected. It only was the Ultra at first. Then S20+s exhibiting same issues started appearing after a while. And all were sold in March of 2020. So I really hope they installed a newer hardware revision of the OLED panel on our units. Not the same crappy panel from the first batch that dies in a year or more. In my frustration, I bought an iPhone 8 Plus for me to use while my S20 was in the SC for a week. I don't really want to go the Apple way. But with the hassle I experienced with this S20, it looks like I am headed that direction. 😂FB_IMG_1627817282076_5634.jpg

I'm actually considering that also. 😁

This also happens to me just now. It started two days back, as a bit flickering but phone can be used and tried to restart and everything and after 2 days just today morning my phone is just white screen flickering same as the photo posted. This is also 1 year of me using the mobile and very well taken care of. It's so disappointing that I found out after a year there was an issue like this to S20 Series that was sold last year.

And so disappointing that Samsung was not doing any action to this and that I need to pay 10000+PHP to get it fixed after buying it for 50000PHP. Super disappointed and hurtful. Samsung says that LCD was "electronic breakdown" saying it was factory defect. But who wants to get this defect after a year?

Please Samsung do something on this.

I'm afraid they won't do anything about it. They would probably just grin and tell us to bear with it. Even one of the agents at their contact center told me that they are not aware of this problem.

These are only partial screenshots of S20 Ultra owners with their displays suddenly dying. Your supposedly "FLAGSHIP" product's display has only a lifespan of 1 year and 4 months, right after the warranty expires. And I don't accept the service center's diagnosis of this problem as "a normal breakdown of the OLED panel." I was like "WHAT???" THIS IS NOT HOW YOUR OLED PHONES WORK IN THE PAST! I still have my Galaxy Note 4 from 2014 AND IT'S STILL WORKING UP TO THIS DAY! This is extremely disappointing.Screenshot_20210807-205110_Facebook_6430.jpgScreenshot_20210807-205125_Facebook_6432.jpgScreenshot_20210807-205157_Facebook_6434.jpgScreenshot_20210807-205227_Facebook.jpg

You are correct! These are manufacturing defects. And consumers are to suffer.
