Galaxy SMy phone updated to oneui v7. 0.
Its android 15.
Only 1 sim in phone.
The status bar icon showing mobile network speed 5g or 4g has disappeared. How do I get it back?
Also how do I see name of my network provider?

Galaxy SHi Jan321,
We understand your concern regarding the missing mobile network type indicator (5G/4G) and carrier name after updating your Galaxy S23.
We recommend the following steps:
Go to: Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings. Check for an option labeled “Show mobile network type” or “Show network speed”. If the setting is not visible, it may have been removed or relocated in One UI 7.0.
Additionally, you may try using the Good Lock application:
-
Open the Galaxy Store, download Good Lock
-
Open the QuickStar module (inside Good Lock)
-
Tap "Status bar"
-
Enable “Show network type” (if available)
Please note: Good Lock features may roll out gradually following a major update and availability may vary by region.
To view your current carrier: Settings > Connections > SIM manager. Tap your SIM card to see your network provider details.
Thank you.

Galaxy SThank u but Afraid neither of those options worked.
Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings. Check for an option labeled “Show mobile network type” or “Show network speed”.
Option not there.
Good Lock application:
Open the Galaxy Store, download Good Lock
Open the QuickStar module (inside Good Lock)
Tap "Status bar". Doesn't exist.
I QuickStar there is an 'IMS network icons' option. It was already on. But network icon doesn't appear in status bar.

Galaxy SQuickstar has a toggle for showing the mobile network icon. The toggle is labeled "Mobile Data Signal" and is right above the IMS Network Icons toggle. This toggle will completely remove or put back the signal strength and network type indicator icon. Have WiFi disabled when you give it a try as work WiFi enabled the network type indicator icon is removed.

Galaxy SHi RobertZ
Thank you for taking the time to advise.
I turned off WiFi.
In QuickStar mobile data signal was on. I turned it off and on a few times.
I the status bar the 5 vertical bars are visible. But no indicator of network speed e. G. 5g, 4g etc.
Weird.
I'd quite like to know I'm getting 5g or not.
As an aside, Since the ui update WiFi indicator shows the WiFi network speed, 5 at present. That's new.
Frustrated
Jan
