Galaxy SVery disappointed with the drafts feature on my new S25! I moved from the S20 a few months ago and thought I would be able to draft messages and return to them to finish later. Could do it consistently on old S20. Noticed that when you only save an image in the messagen (i.e. downloaded image, picture taken, etc) and no additional text, it deletes it. You have to start over! Fix this, Samsung!

Galaxy SHi CarolynB,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We understand that you are experiencing an issue on your Galaxy S25 where draft messages containing only an image (without accompanying text) are not being saved and instead disappear. This behavior may differ from previous models such as the Galaxy S20, where image-only drafts were retained consistently.
Please note that the current version of the Messages app on One UI 8 may require at least minimal text input to recognize and save a message as a draft. Messages containing only media files may not trigger the draft-saving mechanism, resulting in the content being discarded when the app is closed or navigated away from.
We recommend the following workaround:
-
Add a placeholder character (such as a period or emoji) alongside the image to ensure the message is saved as a draft.
If the issue persists or affects your workflow, we encourage you to submit an error report via the Samsung Members app under Support > Error reports > Apps > Messages. This will allow our technical team to review the behavior and consider improvements in future updates.
We appreciate your feedback and regret any inconvenience caused.
