Call background picture no longer works? Changed the background picture but only works during the initial call but not when call is established. Still works on S23 ultra but not on S25 ultra.

Any fixes?

If the call background picture is only displaying during the initial call screen but not after the call is connected, this may be due to a change in the latest One UI version on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The feature may have been modified or optimized for performance.

To troubleshoot, please try the following steps:

Check Call Background Settings: Open the Phone app → Settings → Call Background. Ensure that your selected image or video is properly applied.

Clear the Phone App Cache: Go to Settings → Apps → Phone → Storage → Clear Cache.

Try applying a default Samsung background to see if the issue persists.

Yes the 3 featured ones work but not the downloaded one that I got from galaxy store - other than calling but not when call is established.

Please try deleting the background and redownloading it from Galaxy Store. Reapply it in Phone App → Settings → Call Background and test again.

If you downloaded multiple call backgrounds, try switching between them to see if all downloaded ones behave the same way.

Doesn't work for me. I guess they optimized it out as it was a real memory and battery hog...

Yeah probably, still works for s23 and s24. I am beginning to think maybe even surely enough whether I should've upgraded or not yet 😅
