Is anybody having issues with wifi all of a sudden not working and then drops to LTE/5G and you have to manually go to wifi settings to reconnect again? All my other devices stay connected and wifi works so this isn't an issue with my internet. It happens about every hour it's getting really frustrating. I reset network settings, forget network and rejoined, disabled intelligent wifi options, and I wiped cache partition and the issue still persists.

I haven't had wifi issues on this phone with the December security patch, this all started happening with February update.

Samsung members diagnostics says my wifi is normal and nothing unusual.

My 1st question for troubleshooting would be:

Does this issue over wifi occur at work or public hotspot? [If only at home then you've isolated the issue being home router and NOT the phone itself]

Do you use a VPN that auto enables upon WiFi connection like Samsung's VPN? [If so any VPN disable it and test]

You mentioned your router has 2x 5G networks .... what the hell? Is someone spoofing or man in the middle your SSID?! I've not seen a provider supplied router have 2x 5G SSIDs not even an extender.

1. Login to a laptop YOU own and directly wire to your router OR check your routers setup instructions and box it came with and take specific NOTE of its MAC address. Do NOT loose this!

2. Connect to your router and disable the 5G network. Alert ONLy family members that live with you of this action and to do the same!

3. Check if that 5G SSID name is still active. Verify it's disabled on your router and check the MAC address of that secondary 5G SSID. [I'm not using the word network to avoid mobile carrier network]

If that MAC address doesn't match therein is your culprit! You have a man in the middle pretending to be your network or an extender you're unaware of (but I doubt the extender would work in this test).

Rename your 5G network on your router and make it HIDDEN!
- look for a setting for MAC filtering:
Get all you family members phones, PCs, tablets and any smart Tvs and other smart appliances like light strips bulbs door cameras and locks, etc ALL their MAC addresses and add to the filtering allow list BEFORE enabling the new 5G WiFi hidden network and then turn it on!

Finally test all device connectivity. If no further issues & if after the renaming you see that old 5G SSID still showing up ... I'd now look into changing any account passwords.

BUT before panicking and doing all that check these settings on your phones WiFi sub menu in screenshot attached. 1742968893363.jpg1742968893389.jpg1742968893408.jpg

Oh the two 5G SSIDs is completely normal, I have a tri band router, the router I'm using is the AX11000 from TP-Link it had that functionality out of the box, I been using it for 2 years now and there wasn't any issues and was normal, I think I fixed the issue though (hopefully), I set my IP to static, the internet went out and then put it back to dynamic, internet went back online, and then I power cycled my router and disabled wifi 7 mode from intelligent labs on my s25u wifi settings and so far no issues, but too early to tell.

The second 5G SSID is a "gaming" SSID which the router advertised and the first 5G SSID is a normal one

Ahhh. I haven't used such a router so I was unaware.

Glad you seemed to have it resolved.

Great tips though in case something suspicious happens though! Hopefully this is what solved it for good, I also heard the s25 series has a problem with fast transition so roaming is an issue travelling to access points thus dropping the connection, a software update could fix that.

Might have to back up your phone to the cloud and just factory reset.

Some were saying a factory reset didn't fix it, it's really strange.

By changing the MAC address to "Device Address" and shutting down "Intelligent Wi-Fi" problem gone! Please note I'm not home so I haven't tested this on my home system, but at family home in Florida it worked.
