Galaxy S
Got the phone brand new this week. Having major notification delay issues with Gmail and other apps.
Having delays with gmail and other apps in receiving notifications on home wifi and mobile data . If I don't use my phone for 3 min 30 sec my gmail notification is delayed by 5 to 6 min. If I double tap my home button after not using the phone for some time, I get a flood of delayed notifications. Note I have tried the following:
-disabled battery saver
-disabled app sleep
-enabled wifi always on
-turned off restrict app background data
-Data saver OFF
-removed/added gmail account
-put the phone in safe mode
-deleted gmail cache
nothing has worked so far.
Note that on mobile data I also get 5 to 10 min delay for notifications.
I've also tried installing Hearbeat Fixer for GCM (google cloud messasing), going as low as 3 min with no luck. Also tried 5 min no luck.
Note my old iPhone 6 does not have any notification delays. My work depends on getting timely notifications. Starting to regeret buying what I thought was a flagship phone from Samsung. Thanks.

Uhm - I haven't noticed any delays with Rogers - Which Carrier are you with?
It's FAR more likely to be a Carrier issue than any issue with the device.
