I'm wondering if anyone else with the S9+ has noticed their screen get a dull spot on it. I will show examples once I get home and can take a picture of it.
I think that the protective coating on my S9+ has worn thru, if there is no coating then the glass might be wearing out?(is that even possible)
The screen looks ok when using it but once you put it to sleep and put some steam from your lungs on it you can clearly see where it is worn.406195f1-793a-41e4-8df2-511dabf9a7a1.jpg

Hey @undrunkpunk, This issue is difficult to diagnose or troubleshoot without physically inspecting your device. Please contact your local Samsung Service Center (http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/servicelocation/). Thanks!

this happened to my S5, but it took several months of repetitive gameplay where my thumbs we're on the same portion of the screen.

Was your device exposed to heat in a portion of the screen? That destroys the oleophobic coating.

The purpose of the coating is to make the display smoother and fingerprint resistant. Not having it shouldn't negatively effect your device, but it may slightly effect the device experience if the spot is large enough.

Forgot to mention, but if you dont want to go through the hassle of a screen replacement there are some good tempered glass screen protectors that come with an oleophobic coating installed.

I was planning on getting one but where I am located it's hard to find a protector that is case friendly(otterbox defender)

@undrunkpunk, I used to have a glass screen protector on my S8 but the glass did not last very long. In one of the local malls here in Calgary, I found a kiosk called Ghost Armor where they sell screen protectors for makes of smartphones from Apple to LG to Samsung. I went to them and they put a screen protector on my phone. The screen now looks like there is no protector at all. It only cost me $26.00 + GST.

sweet but I'm in saskatoon, I don't like buying from kiosks, I feel they sometimes sell some inferior products
