A perfect pairing for my needs. The Samsung SSD drives such as the 1 TB SSD super thin T7 drive shown is ideal for backing up your important data from your smartphone, tablet or laptop. These drives have super fast data transfer and are very compact. The T7 connects directly to my S23 Ultra with USB c to USB c cable (a nice short one included with the T7 drive along with a USB c to a cable). Just testing the transfer rate from a recent Win11 laptop to the T7 shows a transfer rate of ~ 285 MB/sec so backing up my 36GB web content took a mere 2 mins .. about 4.5 times faster than backing up to a modern external HD.
I believe that if you really value your content (images, video, audio, documents etc) that you want to keep, you need to have parallel approaches:
 - HD or SSD local backup ..2 different tiers
- cloud storage you trust
Also most external consumer HD or SSD have warranty periods of 1.5 to 3 years so you need to consider adding at least one new external drive say every 5 years even if your current ones appear to be fine.
I have some older HDs (250 GB etc) that are 10+ years old but I would not trust them for reliable backup ... however I do use them regularly for secondary temporary backup tasks.
