"It's very upsetting — I've had my Samsung S22 Ultra for 3 years and it has never been dropped, bumped, or damaged in any way. However, after updating to the latest firmware, One UI 7.0, a vertical green line suddenly appeared on the left side of the screen. I'm wondering if this is a firmware update failure or a bug from Samsung, because I also have a friend with the exact same phone — the S22 Ultra — who experienced the exact same issue after the update.
If this really is a hardware issue, then why are so many users experiencing the same thing? It's clearly not just me, but many others as well. I truly hope Samsung takes this matter seriously and investigates it thoroughly."

Galaxy SRegarding the issue you're experiencing, first of all, I want to express my concern. I'm really sorry to hear this happened.
Even when we take great care of our devices, screen problems can still occur due to factors such as overheating, component wear, or aging.
Coincidentally, my Galaxy S20 Ultra LTE also went through a similar situation. After a while, it developed a green line as well. From my experience, I’ve concluded that excessive pressure on the phone might also contribute to the appearance of green lines.
This issue has also affected several other users. You can try restarting the device first to see if the line disappears.
If the line remains, please try booting into Safe Mode to rule out any third-party apps as the cause.
Here's a helpful post from another Member who experienced the same issue and shared their insight:

Additionally, many users in Indonesia have reported success by submitting an official request to Samsung Indonesia’s CEO Office to receive up to 50% or even full coverage for LCD replacement under special consideration, especially when the green line appears after a software update.
You can send your request via email to ceo.id@samsung.com, please be polite, clear, and detailed in your message, it helps a lot.
Please include the following in your email such as IMEI number, device model and serial number, date and version of last firmware update, clear explanation of the issue, photos or videos of the green line on the screen, and proof of purchase if possible.

Hope this helps, may God bless you! 😇
