Hi All, I had a flip that Ford and the hinge broke on its own upon trying to open it. The screen broke in the middle and was unable to view. I was not able to use my warranty with Samsung or with Amazon. They do not cover for this damage, so I am starting a class action lawsuit. I have sent one letter to Samsung and waiting to reply to see if they will honour the warranty or replace my phone and then I will proceed with lawsuit if needed here is a copy of the letter I sent to Samsung. today and please feel free to copy and paste and send along your own copy to Samsung as well and if you will email me and let me know if you have, I will further let you know the outcomes. Subject: Urgent Request for Resolution - Faulty Hinge on Samsung Flip Z4

Dear Samsung Customer Support,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding the current situation I am facing with my Samsung Flip Z4. I purchased this phone with the expectation that it would provide me with a reliable and satisfactory user experience, as well as the assurance of a 12-month warranty.

Unfortunately, my Samsung Flip Z4 has encountered a critical issue – a faulty hinge that renders the device non-functional. Considering my phone's purchase from Amazon Canada, listed as an international phone, I am perplexed and disheartened by Samsung's refusal to honor its warranty and address this pressing matter.

It is essential to emphasize that I am not alone in experiencing this hinge-related problem. Multiple users across various channels and platforms have reported a similar issue with their Samsung Flip Z4 devices. The prevalence of this problem raises serious concerns about the product's design and quality, and it is deeply upsetting to see Samsung not acknowledging the magnitude of this matter.

I appeal to your sense of responsibility and fairness in resolving this matter promptly and appropriately. I kindly request that Samsung take one of the following actions:

1. Repair: I urge Samsung to fulfill its obligation and repair the faulty hinge on my Samsung Flip Z4. By doing so, Samsung will restore my phone to proper functioning and alleviate my frustration and disappointment.

2. Replacement: Alternatively, I request that Samsung replace my current device with a new Samsung Flip Z4, considering the extent of the issue and the potential long-term implications associated with it. A replacement unit will not only ensure my continued satisfaction as a customer but also demonstrate Samsung's commitment to stand behind its products.

I sincerely hope that we can resolve this matter amicably and avoid the escalation of legal actions. However, I firmly believe in pursuing justice when warranted, and I am well prepared to initiate a class action lawsuit if Samsung fails to address this situation adequately.

I kindly urge Samsung to reconsider its position and provide a fair and reasonable solution to this matter as soon as possible. Time is of the essence, and I anticipate a swift and satisfactory response from your esteemed company.

Thank you for your attention and consideration.

Yours sincerely,

Uhh...Jayman. #1 You have to log in to post here. If the moderators (who are NOT Samsung employees wanted to contact a poster, they could probably do so with your log in credentials. #2 If one wants feedback from members regarding their post, an email address is not such a great security risk: the poster may have several, with this one dedicated to just these responses. While it's true that email addies can be phished, a little common sense goes a long way in protecting your overall credentials. Just sayin'.

Oh. I'm not on here that much. I thought I remembered having to log in to post. Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone. I guess I was mistaken and I don't mind admitting when I'm wrong.

You will need an expert to determine the exact fault with your phone. Lawsuites are very expensive and a new phone is cheap. I wish you luck but Samsung has a team of lawyers on staff to deal with problems.
Even though you are likely correct your phone hinge is defective it may be extremely difficult to prove it.
I remember buying extended warranty on my first flip phone years ago and the hinge broke one day when I try to open the phone and after sending the phone away for repair I was told broken hinges are not covered.
I had to threaten the business owner with small claims court. Then in 2 days I got a new phone.
I never bought another flip phone. They are too fragile.

My flip 4 had the same issue and Samsung deceived me into upgrading to the flip5 and now are claiming 0 value for my trade in.  They're trying to make me pay full price.  I'm going to lawyer up if they don't give me me credit for my 4 or a full refund on my 5 upgrade.
