Hi everyone,

I’ve recently noticed that the back glass on my Galaxy Z Flip 4 is starting to come off. I’m concerned that this could be a sign of the battery expanding, but I’m not sure. I’ve attached a picture for reference.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Could this be a battery issue, or is it just regular damage/wear and tear? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Angwu,

Can you please let us know is this causing any effect on the device performance?

Also, as it is a hardware issue the device needs to be examined by the authorized service technician to find out the root cause of the issue to get it fixed.

Here is the link to know the nearest Samsung authorized service center.

https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/service-center/

Thank you.

Hey Helenna, the performance doesn't seem to be affected. Is there is a fee for device inspection?

Please handle with care!

FYI: A flat cross-over view would help to determine the size/severity of the bulge, too, as it is hard to tell as the current pics. Still be careful to avoid any impact or heat to or via heavy load (maximum performance) while using the device.

@Helenna, any advice on how to mimize that without detriment to Angwu's safety or typical use of the device until service can be done, related to the pending question needing an answer, please?

@Angwu, you may have to engage to see if this is covered, even if regular warranty "may" have expired or not, to know the answer to your inquiry.

PS: What I stated above is a REAL missed opportunity, @Helenna. Not placing blame, just something all your counterparts should be cognizant about in future related situations. Doing that goes WELL beyond brand loyalty by a customer ... it turns them to a devoted fan. Something even existing fans and loyalists can easily stand by beyond the love of the tech (HW & SW quality and synnergies).

Ya feel me?!
Cool.

Thanks for the advice. There seems to be a very, very slight bulge, or at least visible sign of the glass moving away from the phone. I'm not sure if it's noticeable in the picture below. Also, the air bubble under the glass seems to have gotten bigger over the last couple days. I'll plan a date to go to a nearby Samsung store, or at least call to inquire about the cost of a diagnosis.20240812_154402_1000050998_1723502908.jpg

Hi Angwu,

The device needs to be examined by the service technician to know the root cause of the issue and get it fixed and let you know the estimated cost of the repair.

https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/warranty/ Click here to check for warranty information.

If the technician finds any physical/liquid damage it'll be a paid service.

Thank you.

Btw, what happens if you check the battery health in the battery settings? I know you still need to get it looked at by a service tech, but curious to see if the phone reports the battery as healthy or not.
