Galaxy ZHello,
I have been using Samsung cell phone since 1995 Anycall (Korean Version) to now with Galaxy Z flip 5.
I have been using Z flip 5 since December 28, 2023, it is just over 12 months and 15 days.
A week ago this phone made a noise when I flipped open the screen and I noticed the original screen protector peeled off and bubbled. Today there was a green color solid line stays on the left side screen when the screen is on.
So, I stopped by the service center in Edmonton and the service agent told me, that nothing was damaged due to my fault but a common manufacturer issue on the screen and it could be repaired by warranty service but it will take 4 to 5 weeks if I drop off the phone today at the centre. He recommended to call Samsung service for fast repairs.
I texted regarding repair service, the agent told me my warranty is just over, so the repair is not covered by the warranty.
Estimated is $601 dollars.
As a loyal customer of Samsung as well as Korean, I was so disappointed about this.
It was not from physical or liquid damages, The year old cell phone's screen has bubbles on the hinge location along with the pixelated line that is on the left side of the screen. Really frustrating when your manufacturer notes state "designed to handle over 200,000 folding and unfolding cycles on average. Therefore, the device should last more than 5 years if opened and closed 100 times a day" Along with the screen issues, stating "usually caused by a software issue that caused by glitches in apps.. (and) to best protect the device make sure to update the software". So my software is all up to date, Im not opening my phone more than 100 times a day, let alone even close to the 5 year mark AND confirmation from a service agent telling me that none of the problems are from my actions, why is the phone this way? Would someone please explain why it cannot be covered?

We certainly understand your frustration with the situation that the screen protector peeling on your Fold 5.
Unfortunately, as the device is out of warranty it is not possible to provide the replacement for free screen protector.
We request you to visit any nearest Samsung authorized service center or Samsung experience store to get it replaced.
