Not sure I am in the correct forum, however,

I just purchased a Samsung 50" TU8000 Television.

I am trying to link it to my desktop and am having troubles.

I am connected to WIFI

Inserted correct IP Address

Inserted correct User Name

The password is a problem.    I do not have a password on my computer and really don't want one.

However the TV will not let me try to connect without one.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can make this connection without a password.

I know I it is getting through to the computer as I put in a false password and it came back and said the password or username was wrong.

The  tv did show the proper Host Name for the computer, so it probably is the password causing the problem.

I really don't want a password on the computer if it can be avoided.

Thanks.

Hi Mac6, You have to enter your computer’s IP address and user ID and password of your PC to use the Remote PC function. Could you please let us know the operating system of your desktop?

Thanks for replying.

I had a friend who is more familiar with computers come and help.

We managed to make the connection but ran into another problem.

The transfer speed to the tv seems very slow.   The tv is showing the picture in waves.  That's about the best description I can give.

When hardwired with HDMI the picture is great.    However, having a cable laying on the floor from one room to another is not very convenient and is looking for trouble.

Do you have any ideas as to why the transfer speed for the wireless is so slow?

Hi, Thanks for sharing the details.

Please note that a password is required for any wireless connection as it works as a security code. It would be helpful to troubleshoot the issue if you could let us know what issue you are having with the password and why you don't want to use it.
