how can one recenter the whole vr so one can completely use the vr while in bed insted of having to be sitting to be able to see games and videos

not sure what your asking but with it on you can point the control hold home button it centers the control but vr maybe take off and on again

Unfortunately the gear VR is designed to be used standing up, this is because of the gyroscopic sensors used in the unit. Support for re calibration is done on a per app basis and certain apps like the internet browser and netflix can be re calibrated for people who lie down but this cant be done on a system wide scale

Well I find when using samsung internet only then you can reorient vr screnn anywhere you want just look far from the screen and it will give you a option saying tap to reorient screen. But when you are oculus home you can only reorient it horizontly, press and hold back button and look far from actual position and it will give you the same option. but will adjust the screen horizontally only
