Problems controlling AppleTV 4K box with solar remote

My new Samsung QN90C Neo OLED Tizen TV shipped with a solar remote.  I installed it behind a FrameMyTV mirror, placing an IR repeater on the frame, which signals the TV itself, as well as an AppleTV 4K box (connected via input HDMI3).  For an hour or so, the remote controlled the TV and AppleTV seamlessly, then stopped.  Since then, I have power-cycled the devices, unplugged and replugged the HDMI, removed and re-discovered the AppleTV as a connected device on the TV, charged the remote. Reset and reconnected the remote, toggled the HDMI-CEC settings and generally lost a lot of head-hair...but nothing's working.  The call-centre tech at Samsung told me the TV wasn't compatible, but I know that's not true from the specs - AND because it worked initially.  The remote controls the TV just fine, but does this remote even use RF? I don't see the repeater registering a signal from it, even though other remotes I used as a test trigger the light on the appleTV from the same repeater.  Please, does anyone out there have a clue what I should try? Samsung has been less than helpful.
