I purchased a Samsung RF23J9011SRAA refrigerator in 2018.  I started having problems with it by 2019.  The ice maker freezes up to the point it does not make ice. I cannot even get the ice bucket out it is so frozen up.  I purchased the extended warranty through Sears for a costly $499.99 and thank goodness I did.  I have it repaired at least twice a year.  I was told I must use the ice every day, so the problem does not occur.  I explained that I do use the ice every day and that makes no difference at all. 

 

My ice maker has not worked for months but my warranty with Sears was about to expire so I did not call for a repair until I was able to extend the warranty as I did not want Sears to have the opportunity to not extend the warranty, which they have done in the past.

 

The techs that come out all say Samsung acknowledges the issue. Every time they are here for a service call, they replace something, yet the problem persists!  At what point should it be replaced?

 

I paid a total of $3,578 which included the warranty and tax.  I just paid an additional $356.00 to extend the warranty for another year.  I think it crazy that I have paid $856 for warranties for a refrigerated with known problems.  I also invested in a portable ice maker so we can add another $280 to that! 

 

I am so disappointed with Samsung!  I have always purchased their TVs and fell in love with the four-door fridge when I saw it.  I was hoping their appliances were as good as their TVs.

 

It is a major inconvenience to have it repaired all the time and an additional expense to keep a warranty on a fridge that is a lemon!  Samsung should be replacing it.

 

I will no longer purchase Samsung products again based solely on my experience with the fridge.

I'll say this again well it comes to appliances the more simple they are more longevity you'll get out of them. ABC is better than the whole alphabet when it comes to features.

I have the same problem have a repair man here at this moment replacing the ice maker for the third time. It freezes over every two weeks and I have to defrost with a hair dryer. Samsung should be replacing the fridge with one that actually works. My TV’s, vacuums and appliances are all Samsung but they have lost me for life at this point. 

Imagine losing out on 10’s of thousands in future revenue all because you don’t want to replace one appliance.
