OthersI have a Samsung TV and a new Samsung soundbar, Model HW B 550
It appears from the sound bar owners manual that the soundbar will come on when i turn on the TV, as long as I first turn off the TV.
However the soundbar does not come on. I have to turn it on separately and then turn on its settings to D.IN
I have been thru the TV settings and Anynet+ shows HDMI-CEC set to my ROKU device. I have the sound bar connected to the TV via Digital Audio Optical cable.
I might add....if I turn the TV off for a couple hours or so, the soundbar DOES come on with the TV. But with the TV off for a longer time such as overnite, no.
What am I doing wrong....how can I get this soundbar to come on with the TV?
Thanks!

OthersHi Northerner,
Thank you for reaching out! Please try some troubleshooting steps to get your soundbar to turn on with your TV:
Enable Auto Power Link on the Soundbar: On your soundbar remote, press and hold the Sound Mode button for about 5 seconds until "Auto Power Link ON" appears on the display.
This feature allows the soundbar to turn on automatically when the TV sends an audio signal through the optical cable.
Check TV Sound Output Settings: On your Samsung TV, go to Settings > Sound > Sound Output and ensure it is set to Optical.
Consider Using HDMI-ARC Instead of Optical: If your TV has an HDMI-ARC port, consider using an HDMI cable instead of Optical.
Connect the soundbar to the TV using an HDMI cable in the HDMI-ARC port and ensure Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) is enabled.
This will allow the TV to control the soundbar power and volume automatically.

OthersThanks for writing back but none of this works.
Pressing the Sound Mode for 5 seconds or more does not give me and auto power link message
My TV remote only has a "Tools" button and the only sound option of there is SRS Theatre Sound. There is no HDMI-ARC on my TV ....its 12 or 13 years old...its a 46 inch screen and model Series 6 610/630. There is something in the owners manual about Speaker Select (external/tv) but I cannot find it
