Since Android 12 was launched, many users (including myself) were really excited to see how Samsung would interpret material you within One UI 4. I think it's safe to say that update was a little lackluster.

I want to see Samsung UI/UX designers have a little bit of fun with One UI 5 or One UI 6. Currently One UI is very sterile. Material you colour theming is applied conservatively throughout the UI. Fonts are thin and lifeless (especially on the lockscreen clock) and fundamentally One UI hasn't changed much in terms of how it looks since its launch.

Telling devs to "have fun" with the software is a little ambiguous. Here are some specific things I'd like to see updated:

1) a more visually interesting lock screen. I'd love to see the clock be revamped with a bolder, larger font, and more customization options. I'd like to be able to change the font and clock size without having to go through Good Lock.

2) a bolder notification shade. I would like it if the notification shade was a little more customizable, with resizeable icons. I included a mockup of how this could look (fig 1). By allowing users to resize icons within the noto shade, we could see connected Bluetooth devices or available wifi networks at a glance.

3) Material you colour themeing applied to widgets. All of your widgets have a white/black option, why don't they have a colored option? Having wallpaper colours applied to more places will make our devices feel even more personal.

4) redesigned navigation buttons. To fit in with a fresh new One UI interface, I'd love to see the navigation buttons get some attention. I mocked up a custom set via Goodlock and I honestly think that something similar to the image pasted below (fig 2) would fit into the OS really nicely.

I don't think I'm alone in saying One UI is getting stale. It doesn't look bad, it's just getting a little boring. With Google and Apple shifting their own UI's to a more bold and fun look, I'd like to see Samsung do something similar for Galaxy devices.

Samsung needs to improve their software, like how about crash detection, that would be nice or how about Apple coming out with satellite emergency SOS
Or google having call answer, so you know who is on the phone before answering it
