Samsung DeXHello everyone,
last week I updated my S21 to the latest system software (OneIU 4 with Android 12). Since that update Dex is not working properly anymre.
My main problem: I cannot use fingerprint authentification for apps that I open in Dex. For example, when I start my Bitwarden App in Dex mode, I receive the prompt that tells me to use the fingerprint on my device to unlock the App, and the S21 even shows the expected fingerprint dialog. But when I proceed with scanning my finger, the dialog just disappears and the app on the Dex desktop is still locked. It's simply not reacting. (Tested with multiple fingerprint-locked apps, so it's not a Bitwarden problem).
That's really frustrating and currently a showstopper that prevents me from effectively using Dex.
Second problem: Interaction with notifications is not working properly. Just a few minutes ago, when I logged into my samsung account to write this post, I received a security notification that asked me if I was indeed the one logging into my account. The notification hat a "Yes" and a "No" button on it, I wasn't able to interact with either of them. I could click them, but the notification didn't disappear and I had to tap it on my phone screen in the end.
So, apparently both problems have the same root cause: Communication between the Dex Desktop and the phone seems to be broken somehow...
Both the fingerprint handoff and the notifications were working perfectly with the previous system version (I believe it was still Android 11?).
Is there any workaround or does somebody else have the same problem? Thank you!
Markus

Samsung DeX"Last week I updated.." Seems like it was just yesterday, doesn't it 😉
As for functions which are / may be broken, you can send a bug report to Samsung from the Samsung Members app > Get Help & Then Click on Error Report. I'm not sure if it will catch any issues with Dex?
You can also have a look at the link below, which can give you additional information.
