VLC player bug in DEX mode

Hi,

I've been using vlc player  on my samsung S20 fe in combination with DEX since a while now and I'm loving it. 

 

But after updating to the newest version, I always have the problem, that when I start a movie and switch to fullscreen mode, the top window bar won't disappear any more, it is always visable active, also when I don't have any mouse activation. I searched everything inside the vlc settings but could not find any option to switch to autohide of the topbar. How can I get rid of it?

This might not optimizes depends developer from VLC. Not all apps native supports to Desktop experience from dex. Have you try uninstall and reinstall?

Agreed.

I had no idea VPC was available for Android let alone works in Dex mode.

Many apps need to be updated for Dex

Yeah sure, deinstalled and reinstalled several times, even cleaned cache and data. The strange thing is, before update it worked perfektly, and other streaming apps like youtube don't have this top bar in fullscreen mode

Hi, just to confirm so are you facing this issue only while trying to play the videos with VLC player?

Same issue here, very annoying. I confirm the issue occurs only with VLC, no problem with other media players nor steraming services such as netflix & co.

Same here, VLC worked before in full screen, but not anymore.

I am having the same issue on my S21 FE 5G. I tried rolling back to previous versions of Vlc as far back as 3.5.1 from a mirror site and oddly that also didn't fix it for me. I only recently got the phone so I haven't used a version without this issue.

I am having the same problem with my Samsung Zfold to Samsung TV no matter what I do, even just using a HDMI/C cable, it just does not work.  I don't have to do anything and I do not have any problem just using the cable to hook up to a TCL TV without DEX.   DEX  Samsung to Samsung connection just drive me crazy BECAUSE I have not found a way to bypass it with my new phone.  My S20 Ultra can connect to my Samsung TV by just using either  the cable or  DEX.  I don't think I will ever buy another Samsung TV or phone since they have become do cumbersome to use together.
