Step Count Cheaters!!

Can someone please do something about all the step count cheaters in samsung health. It is impossible to take 180,000 steps in 18 hours!!!! Participating in the monthly together maps is fun,  but not if the top rankers are constantly cheating! Please address this issue immediately.

It's November 16 and the top person has over 2 million steps...clearly still an issue

Still happening of course, just happy to see others have already complained about it.  I do get that its rather hard for them to fix though because of including phone step counting.   I could only imagine how bad it was before I joined when they used to allow importing from other programs.

I highly doubt theyll look at my comment but maybe they could add a galaxy watch filter which from what I can tell is less susceptible to cheating than the phone

It's June 2023 and it's still happening. Alas, I never really cared about the cheaters, they're fooling only themselves as their scale won't be moving. Just looked it up to see if there was any report about it, and what do you know, it was reported 3 years ago...

It is obvious that there are many cheaters...fell sorry for them...so the best to draw attention is to report a profile with any of the three reasons to samsung...by the time they get banned. Appreciation for all honest runners!!!!

Clearly still happening. How about limiting participation to participants who simultaneously record GPS routes? If you want to participate, record the route.

Yes, it's limiting, but resolves this issue instantly. Plus motivates people to track routes. For privacy reasons, the routes could be hidden by default (sharing optional), the main purpose would be to have Samsung Health connect the step count to the route, and verify count validity.

There would be concerns of people sharing their locations with Samsung, but remember that participation in challenges is optional, being publicly ranked could also be optional meaning sharing location with Samsung would be optional but a prerequisite for being ranked. Also, does anyone believe Samsung could not get our locations if they wanted to?
