Solutions & Tips
Hi fellow Samsung users,

I've been noticing some issues on my base S23.

See provided screenshot:

I've been noticing this glitch or issue on my display for quite some time. It's not continuous, it happens randomly. It disappears whenever I interact with the display.

I've also been noticing my battery has been declining. I don't like to use battery saver, but I use it when I'm out in public. Any tips on how to extend my battery? I'd like to keep the 120hz and the AOD.

I will answer any further questions.

Thanks!

Solutions & Tips

Hi Zach009,

We understand how frustrating intermittent display glitches and battery decline can be, especially when using premium features like 120Hz refresh rate and Always-On Display (AOD). Below are some troubleshooting steps and optimization tips that may help improve your device’s performance:

Display Glitch Troubleshooting

  • Update Software: Ensure your device is running the latest version of One UI and Android. Software updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements.

  • Safe Mode Test: Boot your device into Safe Mode to check if third-party apps are causing the issue. If the glitch disappears in Safe Mode, consider uninstalling recently added apps.

  • Display Settings Reset: Navigate to Settings > Display and reset any custom settings to default. This may resolve inconsistencies.

  • Clear Cache Partition: Power off your device, then boot into recovery mode and select “Wipe Cache Partition.” This can help eliminate temporary system glitches.

Battery Optimization Tips (While Keeping 120Hz and AOD)

  • Enable Adaptive Battery: Go to Settings > Battery and Device Care > Battery > More Battery Settings and turn on Adaptive Battery to limit background usage.

  • Use Light Performance Profile: In Settings > Battery and Device Care > Performance Profile, select “Light” to reduce system strain without disabling key features.

  • Adaptive Brightness & Dark Mode: Enable Adaptive Brightness and switch to Dark Mode to reduce power consumption.

  • App Sleep Settings: Put unused apps to sleep via Settings > Battery > Background Usage Limits.

  • Disable Background Scanning: Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Nearby Device scanning when not needed.

  • Screen Timeout & Resolution: Reduce screen timeout and consider lowering screen resolution slightly while maintaining 120Hz.

We hope these steps help improve your experience. If the display issue persists, we recommend visiting a Samsung Service Center for a diagnostic review.
