Hi AaronHofer,

It is unusual to hear that NFC turning on automatically. We will proceed with a few troubleshooting steps to help identify and resolve the issue effectively.

  1. Manually Disable NFC:

    • Swipe down with two fingers to open Quick Settings.

    • Tap the three-dot menu > Edit buttons.

    • Remove NFC from the panel to avoid accidental activation.

    • Go to Settings > Connections > NFC and contactless payments and toggle it off.

  2. Check App Permissions:

    • Go to Settings > Apps and review apps with NFC access.

    • Disable or uninstall apps that may be triggering NFC.

  3. Disable Samsung Pay (if unused):

    • If you don’t use Samsung Pay, disable it or restrict its background activity.

  4. Restart Your Device:

    • After making changes, restart your phone to ensure settings are applied.

  5. Use Safe Mode:

    • Boot into Safe Mode to check if third-party apps are causing the issue.

If the issue persists, Kindly submit an error report through the Samsung Members app, so that our technical team can review the case and assist you further. This will help us investigate the issue more effectively, especially as it appears to have started following the recent update.

Here are the steps to submit an error report through the Samsung Members app:

  1. Open the Samsung Members app on your device.

  2. Tap on Support at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Select Error Reports.

  4. Choose the relevant category (e.g., System, App, Connectivity).

  5. Tap Write or + to start a new report.

  6. Describe the issue clearly, including:

    • When it started

    • What triggers it

    • Any troubleshooting steps you've tried

  7. Optionally, attach screenshots or logs if prompted.

  8. Tap Send to submit the report.
