When I plug the HDMI cable from my  home theatre amp into the ARC terminal on my TV, it automatically turns on the amp.  But I want to listen to my tv speakers most of the time and only use the amp when watching movies.  Just wanted to know if there is a way that I can use the ARC feature but not have it turn on my amp.  My old tv would allow me to power my amp independently but take advantage of the ARC feature for the TV to both send and recieve sound from the amp.

Hi Members_zZt9vuT,

To stop the amp from automatically turning on with ARC, you can disable HDMI-CEC (e.g., Anynet+ on Samsung TVs) in the TV’s settings. This keeps the amp off unless you manually turn it on. You can also switch the sound output between TV Speakers and Receiver (HDMI) in the TV’s audio settings.

Thank you.
