A new security update to Google Play services will automatically reboot Android phones and tablets after 72 hours of inactivity, requiring a passcode to unlock and disabling biometric logins to enhance security against unauthorized access.

This feature, initially set to be enabled by default but later made optional, aims to prevent unauthorized access to devices left unattended for an extended period by returning the device to its 'Before First Unlock' (BFU) state.

While Google hasn't specified which devices will support this feature included in Google Play services version 25.14, it's a notable addition to Android's security measures, similar to a recently implemented feature in iOS that also reboots devices after a period of inactivity.

this won't affect me, i have change my habit, now i only use password to unlock my lockscreen. I use biometrics for apps that support biometrics unlock, i find it funny if i use fingerprint to unlock my lockscreen then i use the same fingerprint to open WhatsApp, i think it's not secure at all. So to differentiate this i only use password for my lockscreen, so if i let my phone inactive for 3 days straight it won't matter and i won't forget my password since i insert it daily
