I have a problem with my camera.

I'm using Galaxy S22 Ultra.
On the latest software update.
software version
Problem: Camera can't focus.
After I tapped the object to focus, it didn't work.
When a 'flower' icon showed up, it can focus well. But it doesn't always there. When I moved the camera, the icon vanished and it became blurry again.
For third-party app that using the camera, totally blurry. Can't focus at all. I have to use native camera app. And point the camera until that 'flower' icon show up. Aparrently it's called 'focus enhancer'. So, for taking videos, absolutely garbage result.
Any tips on how to fix this issue?
focus enhancer off
focus enhancer on

Hi, rendyezaputra! 🙌🏻
Thank you for the question. I got your problem, that’s really frustrating, especially since the Galaxy S22 Ultra normally has excellent focus performance.
Based on your description, the autofocus seems to get stuck unless the Focus Enhancer (macro mode with the flower icon) kicks in. Here are some possible causes and solutions you can try:
1. Go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage > Clear Cache (and Clear Data if needed). This resets the camera app without deleting photos.
2. In the camera app, tap the flower icon when it appears, or go into camera settings and toggle Focus Enhancer on/off to see if it helps stabilize the autofocus.
3. In Camera app > Settings > Reset settings. Sometimes after a major One UI update, old configs conflict with new system changes.
4. For apps like Instagram, Snapchat, etc., go to Settings > Apps > [App name] > Permissions > Camera, and ensure full permission. Also test by uninstalling/reinstalling one of those apps to see if they regain focus properly.
5. Since the S22 Ultra has multiple lenses, sometimes the software gets confused which one to use. Try zooming in/out (0.6x, 1x, 3x, 10x) to trigger a lens switch, then back to 1x. This can “unstick” autofocus.
6.Since you mentioned Safe Mode earlier in another context, try rebooting into Safe Mode (press and hold power + volume down > hold “Power off” > tap “Safe mode”). Test the camera there. If it focuses well, a third-party app is interfering.
7. This could be a bug introduced in the update. In that case, you can report via Samsung Members app (with “Send Feedback > Error Reports > Camera”). Sometimes Samsung rolls out hotfixes quickly if enough reports come in.
If you find the answers from the Members here helpful, please tap the three vertical dots at the top right corner of their comments and mark them as the solution. ✅️
Hope this helps, may God bless you! 😇
