If anyone can help please...

I am trying to connect a galaxy tab a9+ to a keyboard and mouse through the usbc port using a hub. The mouse light turns on, the a9+ says 'usb connected' but there is no cursor and no inputs from keyboard or mouse.

I tried the same on my Galaxy s23+ phone and worked instantly.

If relevant, I have parental controls on the device.

TIA.

Hey hey,

I am unsure how much power output the Tab A9 supports for external devices, but one way to figure out if its insufficent power is by plugging a Power Source to your USB-C Hub.

By any chance does your USB-C hub support Power Input while connecting to USB Peripherals?

In theory, the Tab A9 USB-C should support a Basic Keyboard and Mouse without any issues. But else we can do this process of elinmination to see if it's a power insufficent issue or a bad USB-C Port.

I think I know what you mean but the usb hub seems to only have option to draw power from the device itself. The LEDs on the mouse are lit up so there is power from the tablet being used. The only testing I can do is with other usbc devices which all work fine.

If the a9+ is weak output for usbc, I imagine other users will have the same issue, no?

Unfortunately the A series of tablets are a mixed bag.

When I had a Tab A7, a hub wouldn't allow for power pass through where as on the A9+ it does. Have found some irregularities with some devices.

While maybe not what you want to hear, the only thing that will work properly is a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse (though Bluetooth trackpads I have had issues with both A and S series tablets)
