Here's what I have learned before, the step by step explained below: - UBL your phone/tab - Download TWRP custom recovery on your computer (TWRP file is specific for every model devices) - Download Odin and run it as administrator on your computer - Turn off your phone/tab, go into download mode with the combination key hardware (usually "power" + "vol. down" + "vol. up") - Connect your tab with computer via USB cable (there's a sign "Added!" if the connection is succeed) - Untick "Auto restart" in Odin menus (it is important to do to make the next step doesn't missed, which is the step to go to TWRP) - Klik "AP" tray then choose TWRP file, so you now have to klik "start" and wait it until done. - Unplug your tab, now you can press and hold "power" + "vol. down" till Samsung logo appears, while holding "power" key you should immediately press and hold "vol. up" instead of "vol. down". - Viola, now you entering TWRP.
You can install custom ROM or just root your device while you in TWRP. Some or every devices has different methods in case of this, I recommend you to join forum out there, according of your device.
