I can't get my S6 to connect to my Firestick. I was able to do it with my old Tab E but not with my new device.

Both devices are on the same network but Bluetooth on the S6 doesn't find the Firestick. So I tried connecting my Note 9 to Firestick without success. I'm getting frustrated.

Figuring the problem might be the Firestick, I tried connecting the Note 9 to the S6. They'll pair but not connect. In every case, no device found. I unpaired the two, restarted both devices and tried again. They'll re-pair but still no devices found. I restarted the Firestick as well without success.

9n both the Note 9 and the S6 I reset wifi and Bluetooth settings, rebooted and set my wifi networks from scratch but nothing has changed. I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

You'll have to reset your firestick so it goes into paring mode.

restart or reset to factory defaults? i restarted without any change. note that my devices won't find each other either so I suspect the problem is bluetooth rather than the Firestick

Hi chefgarry,

Please follow the steps below on your phone and tablet and get back to us with the results.

You can try connecting the phone with the tablet in Bluetooth mode. When connecting it, make sure the devices are within 5-10 feet of each other to get a better experience.
Perform clear cache and clear data for the Bluetooth.
Go to settings>> Apps>> Bluetooth>> Clear cache and clear data.
Important: Clearing the data will reset the app to factory default settings. Any personal settings saved on the app will be removed.

If the same issue persists, try connecting to any other device and check if it works without any interruption on the other devices. If it works on other devices then this might be an issue with the compatibility.

I had done that already. twice. I've just done a factory reset on the phone. When it finishes restoring the backups, I'll let you know the results.

update. I did a factory reset on my Note 9. After the reset, the phone connects to my car and bluetooth speaker just fine. the phone *sees* the tablet and pairs but doesn't connect. It still doesn't see the Firestick.
